Twisted Roots Recipient of Two Awards

Twisted Roots Recipient of Two Awards

“Twisted.  It’s in our Roots”

Twisted Roots 2009 Chardonnay received a Bronze ribbon in the 2d Annual Consume Wine Awards in Lodi, on June 17, 2010. The award was presented in the non-oaked category.  Our Chardonnay is made using neutral oak and stainless steel and then blended together to provide a fruity, mellow Chardonnay that leaves,”a slight taste of Pear and Vanilla on the pallet.”  This is the second year for the Consumer Wine Awards at Lodi, and the fifth year of a series of tasting events designed to refine and improve the consumer wine evaluation process. Executed by Diversity Wine Awards LLC, in partnership with the Lodi Tokay Rotary Club, proceeds from the event are used by the Rotary to local and international service projects.
The Consumer Wine Awards at Lodi recognizes and celebrates the fact that every person has unique physiological and sensory differences that profoundly affect wine and food preferences. The judges assessing each category of wine will be the very consumers who are most inclined to buy and enjoy the wines of that category.
Vineyard and Wine Management Magazine in their latest edition Vineyard and Wine Management Magazine Competition reported the results of the 2011 West Coast Wine Competition.  Twisted Roots 2008 Petite Sirah won a Silver medal in the “NextGen” Petite Sirah competition.  Our Petite Sirah is grown using Lodi Wine Commission certified “green-grower” practices and is handcrafted. It is noted for having, “a subtle nose of berry, plum and pomegranate.”
The NextGen competition is held in Sonoma County, California each year.  Vineyard & Winery Management announced the results for the 3rd annual NextGen Millennial Wine Competition for Millennial Wine Drinkers in August 2011.  The field of entries included wineries throughout the United States, including those in Virginia, Tennessee, Texas, and New York, plus international entries from New Zealand and France.  Judges were comprised of the most experienced and unique pool of "next generation" wine industry professionals between the ages of 21-35. Wines were judged from a field of more than 767 entries. Judges awarded a total of 14 Double Gold, 38 Gold, 263 Silver, and 245 Bronze medals.
